RMD

A Tax-Smart Way to Give Back

If you’re 73 or older and have a required minimum distribution (RMD) from an IRA, you may be able to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly to our trail project. A QCD can count toward your RMD and, when the IRS requirements are met, the amount transferred directly to an eligible charity can be excluded from taxable income.

Instead of taking your RMD as income, consider putting it toward something that will benefit our community for generations – our trails!

Talk with your IRA administrator and tax advisor to see if a QCD is right for you. And reach out to us with questions on our side of things! kanzatrails@gmail.com

Your RMD.
Our Trails.
Your Legacy.

Volunteer Your Time

You can help by volunteering your time, energy, and equipment or adopting a trail in two year increments.

Donate Financially

The Kanza Rail-Trails Conservancy is designated as a 501(c)3 non-profit. Your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent as allowed by law.  Our EIN # is 48-1191514 and the IRS determination of non-profit status is available upon request.

Come join in our fun and exciting venture by becoming a member of KRTC!
